Police are investigating allegations about the standard of care at an Aberdeen nursing home, BBC Scotland can reveal.
Two staff have been suspended, and new admissions have been stopped, at Eastleigh Nursing Home in Peterculter.
Grampian Police is investigating. The Care Commission has also been informed.
A spokesman for Southern Cross Healthcare, which operates Eastleigh, said: "The health and wellbeing of our residents is our number one priority."
Andrew Williamson, area manager for Southern Cross Healthcare, said: "We have identified areas within the care quality at Eastleigh Care Centre that need to be addressed and, as a result, have ceased admissions while we investigate and implement suitable improvement measures.
"As is standard practice with all cases relating to care quality, we are working closely with the Care Commission and local authorities during the required investigations.
"We can confirm that two members of staff have been suspended while these investigations take place."
'Several issues'
Chris Stadames, the Care Commission's regional manager for the north of Scotland, said: "We were made aware of several issues at Eastleigh Nursing Home, which we then referred to the local authority under the Adult Support and Protection arrangements.
"The council has in turn informed the police of these issues, and we understand investigations are currently under way.
"The Care Commission is also currently inspecting the service and the results of this inspection will be published in the normal way."
