Nine arrests for domestic abuse in Aberdeen

Nine people have been arrested by Grampian Police as part of a crackdown on domestic abuse.

The initiative was launched as part of the ongoing Operation Maple, after the force dealt with more than 3,000 incidents of domestic abuse last year.

The arrests were made over the past three days.

Det Insp Norman Stevenson said: "These results reaffirm a consistent theme of Operation Maple that violence, whatever form it may take, is unacceptable."
