Aberdeenshire schools to be closed by November strike

  • Published

Aberdeenshire's schools will be closed to pupils on 30 November if planned UK-wide industrial action goes ahead, the council has said.

More than two million workers across the UK are due to walk out, disrupting schools, councils and hospitals.

Aberdeenshire said the closure decision was taken to give parents adequate time for alternative arrangements.

Chancellor George Osborne has branded the strike plans "deeply irresponsible".

Aberdeen City Council earlier announced its schools would also close.
