Singer Emeli Sande is backing Aberdeen's bid to be UK City of Culture in 2017, BBC Scotland understands.
Aberdeen and Dundee have both applied to become the next city of culture, alongside nine other towns and cities from elsewhere in the UK.
Sande, of Alford, Aberdeenshire, now holds the record for the most consecutive weeks in the UK's Official Album Chart top 10 with a debut album.
Comedian Billy Connolly is among those who have already backed Aberdeen.
Percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie and author Stuart MacBride are also supporting the bid.
