Willie Young was chosen by Labour after a party meeting
City councillor Willie Young has been selected as Labour's candidate to fight the Aberdeen Donside by-election following the death of MSP Brian Adam.
SNP member Mr Adam died last month, aged 64, after a battle with cancer.
Mr Young, the local authority's finance convenor, was chosen at a local party meeting.
The 52-year-old is the first candidate to be selected for the by-election, which it has been announced will be held on Thursday 20 June.
