Detailed plans for a Highland Games discovery centre on the site of the annual Braemar Gathering have been unveiled.

A preferred location for the attraction at Princess Royal Park was revealed at a public meeting.

It is hoped the centre - estimated to cost about £2.5m - would be an icon for Braemar and attract worldwide interest.

The Royal Deeside location is home to the famous Braemar Gathering, attended by members of the Royal family.
