Consultation on future Shetland education being launched

The future shape of secondary education in Shetland is to be consulted on from next week.

Five options will be up for discussion, ranging from closing Whalsay, Aith and Sandwick secondaries to keeping all secondaries open and cutting education costs.

A series of meetings start on Monday, and a report will go to councillors next month.

The council is urging people get their views across as soon as possible.
