Police have appealed for information after a laser light pen was directed at a plane approaching Aberdeen International Airport.

It was thought to have been aimed from the Danestone area of the city at about 20:50 on Thursday.

Insp Nick Topping said: "Shining a laser at an aircraft poses a serious risk to the safety of passengers and crew, as well as people living close.

"The courts take a serious stance on this matter."
