Stephen Flynn replaces Jackie Dunbar

The new SNP opposition group leader on Aberdeen City Council has been named.

Councillor Stephen Flynn - who represents Kincorth, Nigg and Cove - replaces Jackie Dunbar, who announced earlier this month she was stepping down.

He was elected in July last year, to replace Callum McCaig who became the SNP MP for Aberdeen South.

Mr Flynn told BBC Scotland: "I see it as a positive. I come into it with a new perspective."

The council has a Labour-led administration.
