Woman dead and man hurt in road crash near Forres

A woman has died following a road accident between Nairn and Forres.

Police said a man also sustained a "significant injury" in the crash and was airlifted to hospital.

Emergency services were called to the collision, which involved a small grey car and a silver pick-up, at 05:55.

It happened on the A96 near Brodie, two miles from Forres, Moray and the road was closed for several hours. Police appealed for information from anyone who witnessed the crash.
