Carnoustie enjoyed a spectacular display of the aurora borealis
The Northern Lights put on an impressive display in the skies above parts of Scotland overnight into Monday.
The ethereal light display - also known as Aurora Borealis - was photographed by people in Moray, Aberdeenshire and Angus.
The images of the spectacular natural phenomenon were shared on social media and by BBC Weather Watchers.
