Police investigating report of rape near river in Inverurie

A reported rape near a river in Aberdeenshire is being investigated by police.

The alleged incident happened near the River Don and St James's Place in Inverurie at about 18:30 on Monday.

Police Scotland confirmed it had received a report of a "serious sexual assault".

Inquiries are said to be ongoing.
