Biker, 48, killed in Aberdeenshire crash is named

A man who died after his motor scooter was involved in a crash with a car in Aberdeenshire has been named by police.

The collision - involving a white Honda PCX and a white BMW X1 car - happened on the A952, close to Clola near Mintlaw, at about 13:10 on Thursday.

Andy Wilson, 48, died at the scene. The driver of the BMW, a 69-year-old woman, was uninjured.

Sgt Alexander Bowser-Riley of Police Scotland said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Andy."

The road was closed for about seven hours while investigations were carried out.
