Police closed the road for several hours on Christmas Day
An 84-year-old man has died following a Christmas Day crash on Shetland.
The man, who was driving a grey Volkswagen Golf, was critically injured following a collision with a blue Volkswagen Sharan.
A 39-year-old woman was also injured in the incident, which happened on the A791, between Bixter and Tresta, at about 16:10 on Monday.
Police said the man, who has not been named, later died in Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick.
Sgt Ally Mackay said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to contact us, as your information could be vital.
"I would also ask anyone with any dash-cam or CCTV footage that could help with our investigation to get in touch, external."
