Aberdeen-based Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) has secured a £140m contract for work on the Beatrice offshore platforms and at the Nigg onshore terminal.

The firm said the North Sea contract with Ithaca Energy will see work carried out until the facilities are ready to be decommissioned.

Wood Group-PSN said the deal will secure 200 - mainly offshore - jobs.

The Beatrice field and the Nigg terminal came on stream in 1981 with an initial predicted lifespan of 30 years.
