Fresh offer made in ongoing offshore pay dispute

A fresh offer has been made in an effort to end a long-running pay dispute involving offshore workers.
Negotiations have been ongoing between unions and the Offshore Contractors Association (OCA) since January.
Previous offers have already been rejected, and members of Unite voted last month to take industrial action.
A spokesman for the OCA said a fresh offer was made following talks. Unite said members would be balloted and that it was recommending acceptance.
Unite regional industrial officer John Boland said: "After productive negotiations, a new offer will be put to Unite's offshore membership.
"The offer is a significant improvement on the one made originally in June.
"Ultimately it is in hands of our members who will make the final decision on whether to accept".
