Queen of the South artificial pitch work set to begin

Work is set to begin on the installation of a new artificial pitch at Queen of the South's home ground, Palmerston Park.
Contractors will move on to the site and begin preparing the foundations for the third generation surface.
The work is expected to take 10 weeks to compete.
The move to a synthetic pitch during the close season comes as the Dumfries club prepares for a return to the First Division.
Chairman Billy Hewitson said he believed the new playing surface would benefit their game.
Slices of the old pitch are being sold off to supporters who wanted a memento.
