Moat Brae in Dumfries, the site of a planned Scottish centre for children's literature, was among many places across the country to mark the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth recently.

The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust said the event had been the best attended of any it had staged.

Storyteller Renita Boyle regaled children with a tale or two during the celebrations.

The Wonka inventing room - where you could invent your own sweet - was another attraction.

The Dumfries mansion where the event was held was credited by author JM Barrie as helping to inspire the Peter Pan story.

Hundreds of visitors of all ages, from babies to grandparents, attended the event run by a team of volunteers and The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust.

The Roald Dahl celebration was held over Saturday and Sunday at the Dumfries site.
