Police name woman killed in Borders lorry crash

An 80-year-old woman who died following a crash between a car and a lorry in the Scottish Borders has been named by police.

Julia Brown was driving a grey Vauxhall Viva on the A1, near the village of Burnmouth, when the incident happened at about 09:15 on Saturday.

Ms Brown, who was from Eyemouth, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland said the driver of the lorry was not injured and urged anyone with information to contact the force, external.

Sgt Colin Morrison said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Julia at this difficult time."
