Driver killed in A9 tipper truck crash named

A driver killed in a collision between a van and tipper truck on the A9 in Perthshire has been named by police.

Roy Greene, 41, a joiner from Kilsyth in North Lanarkshire, died at the scene of the crash, four miles (6.4km) from Auchterarder, on Monday morning.

He was driving to work in Aberdeenshire at the time of the collision.

Mr Greene's passenger in the Renault Trafic van sustained several fractures and was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Tayside Police said the 45-year-old man, from Shawhead, North Lanarkshire, was being treated for a fractured pelvis, a broken bone in his back, cuts to his head, and a number of leg fractures, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Leyland Daf tipper truck involved in the crash was not injured.

A report on Mr Greene's death has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
