1,500 in energy plan protest at Senedd

Around 1,500 demonstrators have been protesting at the Senedd against plans by National Grid to build a substation and pylon network in mid Wales.

They say the pylons will spoil the landscape and there should be a ban on any further wind farm construction until planning guidance is reviewed.

National Grid says it will apply for planning permission next year and that without the pylons, it cannot harness the electricity generated by existing wind farms.
