Pisa tests: Encourage reading to improve results
Pupils must read more outside the classroom if Wales is to improve its below average performance in international tests, it is claimed.
Fifteen-year-olds around the world will be tested in reading, maths and science later this year.
In the last Programme for International Student Assessment (Pisa) tests three years ago, Wales was below average for reading and maths, and average for science.
Test organisers said reading standards could be hugely improved if pupils did more leisure reading.
