Universities clearing more as applicant numbers drop

Every university in Wales still has places available through clearing - five days after pupils received their A-Level results.

The number of applicants to universities in Wales was down nearly 3% on last year. This is the first year universities are allowed to raise up to £9,000 for tuition fees.

Universities say the pattern of applications has changed this year.

BBC Wales education correspondent Gwenfair Griffith explains the situation to Good Evening Wales' Kayley Thomas.
