Four hospitals in north Wales are still affected by the winter vomiting bug norovirus

People who have had diarrhoea or vomiting in the last 48 hours are being warned not to visit north Wales hospitals until the symptoms clear up.

Four hospitals in the area are still affected by the winter vomiting bug norovirus.

Betsi Cadwaladr health board said 10 wards were affected, with 35 patients experiencing symptoms.

The hospitals with the bug are Colwyn Bay, Ysbyty Gwynedd, Dolgellau and Wrexham Maelor.

The advice is for anyone with symptoms not to visit patients in hospital until at least 48 hours after symptoms have cleared.

The health board said: "We also advise no more than two visitors to each bed.

"Parents should not bring young children and babies onto the wards.

"Please ensure that you wash your hands with soap and water when entering and leaving hospital wards.

"We would like to remind people who are experiencing symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting, who have a hospital appointment or admission, that they should ring the ward or outpatient clinic first for advice."

Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Rhyl was affected by the bug last week.
