World War One rugby roll of honour: Bryn Lewis
There were 13 Welsh rugby internationals who lost their lives in World War One. But who were they?
Bryn Lewis was born in 1891 in Pontardawe and was a Cambridge Blue who played for his home town club and Swansea.
He was mentioned in dispatches as a major in the Royal Field Artillery, 38th (Welsh) Division. He was killed in action in Ypres, France in 1917 by shellfire, aged 26.
Rugby historian Gwyn Prescott talks about his career and war service, when he was killed by a random shell.
