The Prince of Wales has hosted a reception at the Nato summit in Newport, after an earlier trip to the Royal Navy's new warship in Cardiff.
President Barack Obama attended the event at the Celtic Manor, which was to promote Wales and thank the community for its hospitality.
Earlier, Prince Charles met the company of HMS Duncan in Cardiff Bay, as well as staff from other visiting warships.
It comes as 60 world leaders met in Newport for the world summit.
Prime Minister David Cameron, Wales' First Minister Carwyn Jones and Welsh Secretary Stephen Crabb were at the reception on Thursday evening.
They were joined by other Nato dignitaries, school children and cadets.
The event was an opportunity to thank people from across Wales who have been involved in delivering the largest gathering of world leaders the UK has seen.
Guests were entertained by the orchestra of Welsh National Opera, students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Prince of Wales' official harpist, Hannah Stone.
Among those attending was Rachael Flanagan, who after setting up her cleaning firm Mrs Bucket aged 18 with just £20, now has 250 clients and employs 200 staff.
The award-winning entrepreneur said she was honoured to be invited.
"The Nato summit is a fantastic opportunity to promote Wales to the world and I'm so proud to be part of it," she said.
Earlier on Thursday the prince boarded the Type 45 Destroyer HMS Duncan.
The ship arrived in Cardiff Bay on Tuesday after returning to Portsmouth for the summer.
It had previously been in Glasgow where it supported the city's World War One commemorations.
Prince Charles, who is Admiral of the Fleet, spoke to the Destroyer's crew before boarding the French anti-submarine frigate La Motte-Picquet to meet staff.
On Thursday night it will be the venue for a working dinner for the 28 Nato defence ministers.
They will be joined by 24 ministers from Nato partner countries including Australia, South Korea, Ireland and crucially Ukraine.
