Snow warning issued for Wales after strong winds

A yellow "be aware" warning for snow, hail and ice has been issued for much of Wales for Tuesday.

On Monday morning more than 200 homes were left without power as strong winds affected lines in mid and south Wales.

Speed restrictions have been imposed on Anglesey's A55 Britannia Bridge and the M48 Severn Bridge, and some ferry crossings have been cancelled.

One flood warning is in place for Conwy Valley, external along with several flood alerts across north and mid Wales.

The Met Office, external says showers of hail, sleet and snow are likely from 18:00 GMT on Tuesday until 12:00 GMT on Wednesday, with up to three to six centimetres (1.1ins to 2.3ins) expected in some areas.

Icy patches will form on untreated surfaces and motorists are warned of the risk of tricky driving conditions.
