The renowned fisherman, author and broadcaster Moc Morgan has died.

Mr Morgan was a familiar voice on BBC Radio Cymru and was the focus of an S4C three part documentary last year, at the age of 86.

A prominent figure in the Welsh fishing community, he once took former US President Jimmy Carter on a fishing trip in mid Wales.

He was also the founder chairman of the Federation of Welsh Anglers.

The sports governing body in Wales, Angling Cymru said: "Moc always championed angling and his work is well documented. Angling has lost a hugely influential advocate and a great fisherman."

The Western Mail also paid tribute to Mr Morgan, as it published his very last column in the newspaper on Tuesday.
