£30m work programme for long-term unemployed announced

The new work programme would support adults in 52 Communities First areas

A £30m work programme has been launched to help long-term unemployed people find jobs.

Announcing the scheme on Thursday, Communities Minister Lesley Griffiths said the scheme would support 35,000 adults over three years.

More than 200 specialists will help people who struggle to find work because of issues with childcare, qualifications or health.

The Communities 4 Work scheme is available to people aged over 25.
