Military 'truly sorry' for deaths of three soldiers
A senior military officer has apologised for the deaths of three reservists who died on an SAS selection march after the coroner reached a conclusion of neglect.
Brigadier John Donnelly said the military was "truly sorry" and offered condolences to the family and friends of the fallen soldiers.
He added the service would be holding its own inquiry after all civil investigations had finished.
L/Cpl Edward Maher died as a result of hyperthermia during the Brecon Beacons march on one of the hottest days of the year in July 2013.
L/Cpl Craig Roberts and Cpl James Dunsby also collapsed and later died from the effects of overheating.
