Estyn review: Pressurising schools 'only takes you so far'

The author of a report into schools watchdog Estyn has said pressurising schools "only takes you so far" and some have earned the right to not have traditional inspections.

It said inspections should be paused for a year from September 2019 while curriculum reforms are introduced.

Prof Graham Donaldson also recommended more emphasis on schools evaluating themselves.
