Body found in Barry industrial container port

A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a container port in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Police were called to Barry Intermodal Terminal on Wimborne Road at about 05:50 BST after the discovery.

The man has yet to be formally identified.

Det Ch Insp Mark O'Shea, of South Wales Police, appealed for anyone who may have information to contact the force.

Mary Lynch, who runs the Atlantic Cafe in Wimborne Road, said she opened the cafe just minutes after the body was found.

"It scared me," she said. "I always leave the door unlocked while I'm here on my own for the other member of staff to come in and it's just something I won't do again.

"I think it was a shock, because it's on our doorstep. Although it's an industrial estate everyone knows each other."
