Cardiff stabbing: Boy, 17, taken to hospital

A 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Cardiff.
Police said the teenager was stabbed in Broad Street, in the Canton area of the city at 10:00 GMT on Wednesday.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.
A 15-year-old boy, from the Riverside area, has been arrested on suspicion of wounding. Police said the assault was "not a random attack".
South Wales Police have issued a "Section 60 notice" which gives officers more stop-and-search powers in the Canton and Grangetown areas of the capital.
The force said the notice was aimed at "preventing serious violence, to find dangerous instruments or to apprehend persons carrying weapons".
Detectives suggested the incident and an earlier one on Saturday in Cardiff city centre, where seven boys were arrested after a violent clash between two groups, were linked.
Det Supt Esyr Jones said: "Understandably there is once again shock and worry within the community when an incident such as this happens.
"One person has been arrested and enquiries are on-going to arrest further suspects.
"Today's stabbing and Saturday's violent disorder in the city centre are not random attacks, they involve groups of local teenage boys targeting each other and we appeal to the community for information.
"We again urge families and community elders to please speak to their children about the dangers of knife crime and to contact South Wales Police if they suspect their child was involved in this, or any other knife crime, incident.
"Taking these steps could save a life."
BBC Wales has seen an email sent to sixth-form pupils at Fitzalan High School, near the site of the stabbing, asking pupils not to leave "even if your lessons have finished for the day", and to remain at home if they have lessons on Wednesday afternoon.
A Cardiff council spokesperson said: "Whilst South Wales Police carry out investigations in the Canton area following an incident which took place this morning, schools in the vicinity are following, where appropriate, safety measures as a precaution, to ensure the safety of pupils and staff."
South Wales Police said it was carrying out enquiries at "a number of different locations" in Canton, Grangetown and Riverside.
A number of items have been found and will be forensically examined.
The force has also issued a "Section 35 dispersal order", allowing officers to exclude people from an area for up to 48 hours.
