The M4 has reopened after being closed for several hours following the death of a pedestrian.

The motorway was shut in both directions between junctions 35 at Pencoed and 33 at Cardiff West, after several vehicles hit the man at about 05:45 GMT.

South Wales Police said the 34-year-old's family was being supported by specialist officers.

The road reopened shortly before 16:00, about 10 hours after it was closed.
