A crash involving a motorbike and car led to big hold-ups on the M4 at Bridgend.

The road between Junction 36 Sarn and Junction 35 Pencoed was closed for a short time but reopened by 09:20 BST.

Traffic analysts Inrix said it led to seven miles (11.2km) of queues following the crash at about 07:30 BST.

Surrounding roads through Sarn and Bridgend became congested as traffic diverted on to alternative routes, it added.

South Wales Police advised motorists to avoid the area before the traffic began to ease later in the morning.
