Forecasters have warned of possible flooding and extended journey times

Multiple flood alerts have been issued for Wales as forecasters warn of heavy rain overnight.

A Met Office yellow warning, which covers areas of both south and north Wales, runs from 19:00 GMT on Tuesday until 03:00 on Wednesday.

The only areas unaffected by the warning are Anglesey, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Pembrokeshire and Wrexham.

Natural Resources Wales issued flood alerts in 17 areas, and five flood warnings, external through rivers in mid Wales.

The Met Office has warned some higher ground areas could see 40-50mm (1.5-2in) of rain overnight.

The M48 Severn Bridge also closed to traffic in both directions at about 15:00 on Tuesday due to high winds.
