Gaza: Failed escape a death sentence, says Swansea doctor

A doctor who was unable to escape to Egypt from Gaza has said having to return is a "death sentence".

Dr Ahmed Sabra, an NHS consultant from Swansea, was not on an approved list of foreign nationals allowed to leave the Gaza strip, unlike his wife and three children who did escape.

He said the situation was "very dangerous" and called for the UK government to help him return home.

The Foreign Office said it was working "round the clock to ensure all British nationals in Gaza who want to leave are able to".
