Wynne Evans, Derek Brockway and Ian 'H' Watkins are among the stars helping to raise money for this year's Children in Need appeal.

The celebrities appeared outside the BBC building in Cardiff to fundraise for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

The annual BBC charity event raised £51m last year.

"It's nice to see where the money goes and who it is supporting," he said.

"It shows you just how important the charity is and how much of a difference it makes to children and young people."

Steps singer Ian 'H' Watkins said it was "lush" to be part of the fundraising in his hometown.

Other fundraising efforts have included BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay completing an ultra-marathon, which raised £3.7m.

Children in Need, external, which supports over a hundred projects in Wales, is best known for its appeal night which was first broadcast in November 1980.

This year's appeal show is being hosted by Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, Alex Scott, Chris Ramsey, Jason Manford and Lenny Rush.

The show will include an exclusive Doctor Who scene, produced by Russell T Davies, ahead of three specials for the 60th anniversary.
