Angharad Jones funeral and inquest opening held after river death

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a 55-year-old woman who went missing from her home in Nantgaredig, Carmarthenshire.
Angharad Jones disappeared on 26 November and was described by police at the time as being "high risk".
Mountain rescue, firefighters, specialist police divers and a police helicopter were involved in a search in and around the River Cothi.
The inquest heard how Mrs Jones' body was found in the river on 29 November.
At the inquest opening in Llanelli, which was held on the same day as her funeral, Coroner's Officer Hayley Rogers said Mrs Jones had been reported missing by her husband at 16:44 GMT on the Sunday.
An "unresponsive female body" was found in the river at Pontargothi at 13:20 GMT on Wednesday 29 November, which was later confirmed to be Mrs Jones.
A post-mortem examination report was carried out on 5 December at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen.
The inquest heard the results of the report and other enquiries were ongoing.
The inquest into the death of the mother of two was adjourned until Friday 29 March 2024.
Acting coroner for Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, Paul Bennett, extended his "sincere and belated condolences" to Mrs Jones' husband and other members of the family on their "sad loss".
Angharad Jones' funeral is being held in the village of Nantgaredig on Friday.
