Three people have been arrested during a murder investigation into the death of a 30-year-old man.

The inquiry was begun by South Wales Police on Sunday after the body of Daniel Rae was discovered at an address in Treforest, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Two men - one from Pontypridd, the other from Birmingham - have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Det Supt Mark O'Shea, who is leading the investigation, said: "I can confirm that three people have been arrested following the death of Daniel Rae at a property on Princess Street, Treforest, on Sunday.

"A 22-year-old man from Birmingham and a 33-year-old man from Glyncoch, Pontypridd, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

"A 21-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and conspiring to pervert the course of justice."

He described the death as "a targeted incident" and said "at this time we are confident that there is not any wider risk to the public".

He also appealed for anyone with any information - "no matter how insignificant" - to get in touch.
