A student has described how he was rescued by tractor from a flood-hit caravan with his dog.

Josh Morgan, his parents and pet Lottie arrived at Kiln Park in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, on 27 December, but by New Year's Eve water surrounding the mobile home was ankle deep.

The 21-year-old said when he peered outside a family of ducks swam by.

"Our cars are still there, I think they're probably floating by now," he added.

They were going to try and move their vehicles - he drives a Fiat Punto and his parents a Toyota Yaris - but said they were advised against it by the park.

A tractor was sent to move them to a different home for the night.

"We had two pairs of wellies donated to us to get to the tractor which saved us getting soaked," Mr Morgan said.

Lottie, a seven-year-old Pomeranian rescue, took the situation in her stride.

"We went out one at a time sitting on the wheel arch of the tractor," said Mr Morgan, who studies philosophy, politics and economics in Manchester.

The family still made it out on New Year's Eve.

"That was the main thing, that was the main worry," Mr Morgan said.

He returned home to Ystradgynlais, Powys, on New Year's Day when a friend gave him a lift.

His parents Paul and Betsy, who live in the same town, returned the day after with another site resident.

They have yet to see how their cars and caravan have fared.

A danger to life flood warning remains in place and roads are closed in the aftermath of Storm Henk.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) said the situation near the River Ritec in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, near Kiln Park caravan site, was still severe.

The river reached its highest recorded level, above that recorded when Storm Ciarán cause an evacuation in November, NRW said.

Roads are closed due to flooding in three other counties.

Daf Lettellier, NRW's head of operations for south Wales central, told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast the Ritec has already broken a record level set last year.

"It shows how much it's been raining," he said. "I would expect the River Ritec to take a few days before going back to normal so the warning will be out there for a while.

"It's also affected by the tides so it takes a really long time.

"The good news is the rain is starting to ease so less rain means overall an improving picture."

He said the ground is "absolutely saturated", adding: "It's been raining, it seems, for weeks."

Roads closed due to flooding

Flooding led to the A4139 being closed on Wednesday morning near the Kiln Park entrance just outside Tenby.

The caravan park itself has also been flooded.

Flooding also caused a road closure in both directions on the A490 near Welshpool in Powys from the A458 to the Leighton turn off.

The A483 was also shut in both directions from The Horseshoes Inn in Berriew to A458.

In the Vale of Glamorgan, flooding cause the closure of the B4265 in both directions from Morfa Lane to the B4270 Cowbridge Road.

In mid Wales, heavy flooding between Berriew and Welshpool, Powys, has led to the closure of the A483 in both directions.

On Gower in Swansea the A4118 was also closed in both directions from Scurlage to Llanddewi.

"People should still be cautions. There's lots of water on the roads, fields, villages," Mr Lettellier said. "It's soaked out there, so prudence is key."

The bridge over the river Teifi at Llechryd was shut on Tuesday night for "safety reasons" after the river overflowed and flooded the bridge and surrounding land, said Ceredigion council.

It added it was still monitoring river levels near the bridge and will make a decision about reopening the bridge when it is considered safe to do so after an inspection.
