Swansea: A&E patient describes 'war hospital' scenes

A patient who waited in a hospital chair for five days says the scene resembled a war hospital.

"There are people on floors. There are people on chairs that should be in beds," Nicky Roberts said of his experience at Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

The 42-year-old went to A&E with severe headaches and was told he had a potentially serious condition.

But he said he was told there were no beds, and has slept on a chair in a room next to A&E since being admitted.

Swansea Bay health board apologised and said with "exceptional demand, waits are much longer than we would like".
