A pedestrian has died after an early morning collision with a car, which led to part of the A40 in Carmarthenshire being closed for much of Easter Monday.

Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating the collision on the A40 eastbound just before Carmarthen at about 04:45 BST.

The man's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, police said.

The A40 between Carmarthen and St Clears closed in both directions and reopened at about 13:00 BST on Monday.
