Work on Aberystwyth new bandstand to start in January

Work on the bandstand is set to start on 5 January with demolition of the existing building later in the month
Work to replace Aberystwyth's bandstand in a £1m project is expected to start in early January.
Contractors are starting preparatory work before Christmas but the demolition of the existing structure will not take place until later next month.
Ceredigion council said some of the work will be noisy and will have to be carried out at low and mid tides.
The bandstand has been a prominent landmark on the seafront since 1935.
In March the council abandoned its original design because of "significant additional costs".
The bandstand survived the storms that hit the promenade in January unlike some businesses and another historic landmark, a Grade II-listed seafront shelter.
The new bandstand is expected to be finished by August.
