A privately owned care home in Aberystwyth is closing its nursing care due to a "problem recruiting nurses".
Methodist Homes (MHA) has announced it will re-designate 20 nursing beds, run on behalf of Ceredigion council, to residential care at Hafan y Waun.
The council said it was "concerned at the withdrawal of nursing provision".
MHA said it was working with the council and Hywel Dda health board to find beds for the 12 affected residents at other homes nearby.
Six nursing staff would also be affected, it added.
Residents have been told the changes would take place by the end of March.
