A Wrexham firm providing telephone answering and office services is preparing to take on 100 extra staff as part of a major expansion.

Work is due to start next week on an 8,000 sq ft office for Moneypenny alongside the company's headquarters on the town's technology park.

The "seven figure" development is due to be completed next May.

Chief executive Ed Reeves said 100 extra people would be employed on top of the existing 220-strong workforce.

Mr Reeves, who co-founded the company with his sister Rachael Clacher, said: "This is a significant milestone.

"We have been operating very successfully in Wrexham for more than 10 years and this expansion is an illustration of our commitment to Wrexham and the region.

"With this additional space we are able to recruit more high-calibre employees locally while continuing to grow our nationwide network of clients."

The company is just completing the recruitment of an extra 50 staff taken on following an announcement in June, to meet growing demand for its outsourced office services.

Mr Reeves said despite the economic downturn, many large companies were using telephone answering and outsourced reception and PA services to reduce costs.
