Woman in mobility scooter mud rescue at Prestatyn

Coastguard crews were called to help a woman whose mobility scooter became stuck in mud near a Denbighshire beach.

A companion raised the alarm during the incident which happened as they were exercising their dogs at Barkby Beach on Tuesday at about 12:15 BST.

The coastguard said the woman had managed to get to safety before their crews arrived.

Teams from Rhyl and Flint then freed the scooter from near a slipway as the tide was going out.

The woman was uninjured.
