A woman on a mobility scooter at a holiday camp was pushed to the ground and set upon by a gang of teenagers who stole her jewellery and money.

The 60-year-old victim was staying at Pontins in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, when the attack took place on Thursday.

Both her engagement ring and her late husband's wedding ring which she wore on a chain were taken.

The attack happened at about 23.15 BST as she was crossing the grounds of the park.

Det Con Andy Pendleton from North Wales Police said: "The victim describes herself as being on a path close to the car park where there were bushes on either side, when she was approached by a group of about five teenagers - 3 girls and 2 boys, who were aged between 15 and 17.

"She stated that these youths pushed her from the mobility scooter to the ground before taking her money, cigarettes, engagement ring from her left ring finger and a gold necklace carrying a white jade dragon and her late husband's wedding ring."
