North Clwyd Animal Rescue sees cat and kitten numbers double

A Flintshire animal charity has seen the number of cats in its care more than double in a year.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue in Trelogan near Holywell now has 170 kittens and cats - up from 80 in September 2013.

The charity said people are not adopting as much as they see cats and kittens for sale on social media for as little as £5 or being given away.

A charity spokeswoman said those animals have often not been spayed or neutered and may also need vaccinating.
