A55-A483: North Wales drivers face 2mph crawl in road works
- Published
Drivers in north east Wales have been left crawling through major roadworks on key trunk roads in and out of the region due to road works.
Work at the junction of the A55 and A483 has seen 105-minute delays as motorists struggle through tailbacks on Friday.
It is the second day in a row that drivers have faced delays on approaches to the Posthouse roundabout.
Officials insist the work will improve traffic flow in the future.
'Find alternative routes'
The Highways Agency is spending £5.3m re-modelling the roundabout, external, with work in the area expected to continue into March.
A spokesperson for the Highways Agency said the closures were part of the final stages of the work to improve journey times between Chester and Wales.
"We're therefore encouraging drivers to allow extra time, or to find alternative routes if possible," they added.
"Road users should see a significant improvement to their journeys when the project is completed, helping to bring a boost to both the local and regional economy."
